Sangue di Giuda (literally meaning Blood of Judas) is a sparkling, or 'frizzante' style sweet red from the Lombardy region of Oltrepo' Pavese. Using 80% Croatina (locally known as 'Bonarda'), and 20% Uva Rara, this red is aromatic and fresh, with ripe cherry and hints of blackberry and plum fruit. Pair with dessert or any meat dish.
AROMA: Notes of bing and black cherry, slight hints of vanilla and espresso. Some darker fruit aspects of black currant, an interesting hint of HB pencil lead, and a slight herbaciousness on the finish. FLAVOR: Very nice, rounded mouthfeel on the entry. Black cherry and blackberry throughout the mid-palate, with a touch of oak baking spice, some minerality and pencil lead on finish.
AROMA: Stone fruit notes like peach and honeydew melon; fresh bread dough, crème brûlée, and vanilla. FLAVOR: Nice, rich and round mouthfeel. Peach, nectarine, toasted bread, and vanilla on the palate.
